:P I dunno. My mom asks me what I want every year, so I always give her a little list so she has some ideas. This year I asked for a new house phone, the Anne of Green Gables books that I don't already have, and the mini-series on DVD. And a box of her homemade preserves, and potholders. Exciting.

Those are just ideas I gave her though because she asked. :P I'm always happy with all the gifts I get, so I don't really care.

Apparently, SOMEHOW, Industrial has taken all the credit Goth, and Deathrock has earned in the past 15-20 years.
The clubs are promoted as "goth" but there's not even so much as a note of goth music, it's all EBM, and the like.
As far as I know.. this is only a state side "problem".
I don't know about other places.
And obviously, the Industrial scene has stolen it's look from the goths too.

I have not tried to prove her wrong but to get her to realise she can't say those things without there being some implications she is not ready for which she already has proven.
